About Amanda Lee

Hi! This is me, Amanda! I am a believer and enthusiastic follower of Jesus Christ. My life is all the sweeter because I am incredibly blessed to have 4 little skittles and the big hunk, I call my amazing husband. I believe in dancing in the rain, singing your heart songs, and taking in the tiny moments that make the bigger moments possible.  My world really comes to life when I stop to take in the simple joys of motherhood. Like when we make up silly stories under a blanket fort, when my house becomes a fortress and we spend the day fighting pirates and preparing for the grand ball.  It comes to life when I sing my heart out, spend time in nature getting my hands dirty, or when I paint something beautiful.  I am a creator and risk taker, an outdoor adventurer and a fierce friend.  I choose to look through the eyes of faith and hope instead of practicality and dull color.  I am more of ME when I am serving God and others around me.

Growing up I never considered myself any extra ordinary artist.  I have taken a few art classes over the years and I won a few contests but really just took at wack at it for fun.  After graduating high school, I didn’t really do anything with art until sometime after I got married.  As poor college students, we didn’t have a lot of money and wanted to give my mother something special.  Out of the blue, I decided to try a large painting as a home warming gift.  To the say the least, I was commissioned for at least 30 paintings shortly after and sold over hundred in about a year and a half in between schooling and raising my kids.  I have been in a few arts shows since and look forward to more.

My life was changed by service as a 21-year-old missionary in Houston Texas where I learned what living life to the fullest really means.  Finally stepping out of my little box into a whole world of beautiful cultures and people with different experiences opened my eyes to the very real heartache and problems people face and the ability we have to make a difference and to share goodness.  Jesus Christ is known throughout history as one of most influential people to walk the earth.  His entire life was dedicated to service and sharing goodness. That influence is still felt a crossed the globe today.  I have discovered the way to the most fulfilling life is following His example.  That is what I hope to share through my art.  His light and love and the joy that comes into our lives through following His perfect example.
